The Brief

Before the Work Started

The old Potterton PowerMax had been in place for many years and was showing clear signs of age, with worn pipework and an outdated control system. Before any new equipment could go in, the existing unit and associated pipework had to be safely removed and the space prepared for the new boiler.

First Fix – New Pipework and Boiler Position

With the old boiler removed, Prof Heat Services carried out a full first fix – running new copper pipework to the boiler position, fitting the filter and isolation valves, and setting the unit at the correct height and spacing for easy future servicing. Getting the pipework runs right at this stage is what allows the finished installation to sit cleanly against the wall with everything accessible.

The Finished Installation

The new Vaillant ecoTEC Plus boiler was fitted with load compensation controls, helping the system run as efficiently as possible while delivering a noticeably improved hot water flow rate compared to the old unit. The copper pipework was finished neatly with clean bends and properly supported runs, and the boiler’s digital display gives the homeowner clear, simple control over heating and hot water.

As a Vaillant ecoTEC Plus, the boiler comes with a ten-year parts and labour warranty on both the boiler and its controls when installed by a registered engineer – giving the homeowner long-term protection and reassurance that wasn’t there with the old system.
